Franklin Mint is known for creating luxury versions of chess sets and this one designed by Stuart Mark Feldman is no exception.
The set has a 21" square marble topped board, a wooden base lined with spaces specifically designed to hold the chess pieces. The playing pieces depicting several Greek and Roman Gods are handcrafted in fine white porcelain or rare black porcelain and embellished with 22 carat gold. The pieces are about 5" tall with the rooks and pawns about 3.5" tall and they each come with their certificates from Franklin Mint.
All the pieces are as new because they have not been out more than three times, but unfortunately when I got them out to take their picture I found a small piece of one at the bottom of its section. However I am sure this could easily be repaired!
Due to the weight and delicacy of this set I would prefer it to be collected and payment made in cash on collection. I live near Preston in Lancashire.
